Hello dear. Whilst reeling from the hagg reeling from the injustice and indignity of facing a "lucky losers" round (a thousand swedish pot plants are probably being ripped from their roots as i write) i happened upon this "wildcard" which has made it into the Polish final without the song itself actually being uploaded onto their national final website. Yes it has been another wild Saturday on the tiles for me. Anyway, if you can see past the amateur video and the pronunciation surpassed only in incomprehensibleness by Isis Gee, I think that this could be a very enjoyable entry from Poland. Enjoy xx

Hello chickies New year new euro! The optimism ends here for me, however, as I have grave concerns that the powers that be across europe (aka drunk televoters and desperate belarussian housewives) may not be taking their responsibilities seriously enough. February has scarcely begun and already we have a clutch of entries for what will be the largest contest in its history. Unfortunately it been downhill since Albania, and Albania was pretty much at sea level to begin with. Those who feared 42 sour-faced lesbian power ballads should have been more careful what they wished for, as even Eastern Europe seems to be taking the piss this year. Much has been made of Ireland's prospective entry from a stuffed turkey named Dustin, with all the predictable cries of "Ireland sends a turkey, what's new???" etc etc. Yet looking at the field so far, Dustin may well be wondering if he isn't risking his artistic integrity. Here are my meanderings on a few of the recent of...

Readers, what I have just seen and heard may take some getting over. Sit down, move all sharp objects and hot drinks out of harm's way, and click below: Cinema Bizarre are one of the 5 acts competing for the German ticket to Belgrade in May. And it's quite good. I'm stunned. It sounds contemporary, all those wee boys have nice costumes and make-up (plus one of them looks like Michelle Williams off of Dawson's Creek. Amazing.), and most importantly it's all really Euro-friendly. Lots of tATu-esque stuff going on, particularly in the chorus, which should certainly appeal to the Russian/Belarus vote. Of course, anything could happen on German national final night - February 6th - but I'm impressed by this offering. It's worth checking out their Japanese-style website here . Juicy. In other German news, the highly successful girl band No Angels are also going for the Euro ticket in Hamburg. It could be Monrose (a.k.a caterwauling disaster) mark II, but even I ha...

Drivers are warned to take caution as Albanian and Norwegian artistes stand firmly in the middle of the road for yet another Eurovision season It seems like just yesterday when I shared the same smoke-machine-infused air as Cypriot songstress Evridiki and hailed her as the Euromoments tip for semifinal success in Helsinki. Yes, Euro2007 brought pain (I'll spare you the account of my hours of anguish over my last-minute decision not to attend my own Eurovision Final Party in a Marija costume - oh, the bitter tears I shed...) and mortification ( "Sprang!" , sunflower, medieval costume). But there was also plenty in which to delight - Sopho Khalvashi's performances for Georgia still bring a tear to my eye and I will never (ever) get over how Portugal managed to turn a turd sandwich (why let a great analogy go just because it's getting old?) into a turd sandwich without the turd. Anyway, in the words of Marion Fossett, here we are together again after all this time. A...
